Leuven is een heuvelachtige stad in Vlaams-Brabant en telt meer dan 100.000 inwoners.
Leuven ligt aan de oevers van de Dijle en is rond 1150 een echte stad geworden.

Leuven (+- 100.000 inhabitants) is a city in the province of Flemish Brabant, on the banks of the river Dijle.

university city since 1425 (Catholic University of Leuven) with the largest university of Belgium .
Visitors are blown away by the gothic Town Hall (erection started in 1439), the Grand-Place with its Guildhouses, an the also gothic Saint Peter’s church (with paintings of Dieric Bouts among which “The Last Supper”)
The Old Market (with innumerable pubs, coffeeshops and snackbars) is nicknamed “the longest bar in the world”
The Large Beguinage is since 1998 a World Heritage Site (Unesco) and the Botanic Garden is truly an unbelievable oasis in the center of Leuven.
